Tanzania Hotel

Typically when going on safari in the Serengeti area of Tanzania, tourists stay in a hotel or hotels that are called lodges or camps. There are several different options in and around the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Below is a quick overview of some of the hotel options you can choose from.

Seronera Wildlife Lodge has a good location in the heart of the Serengeti. It is a convenient location for those that want to easily experience watching the migration of wildlife, such as wildebeast. It is about a six hour drive from Arusha, although you can also take an hour flight from Arusha to land on the lodge’s dirt airstrip. The lodge has a total of 75 rooms. The amenities include both a bar and restaurant that you can view the savannah from.

Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge with its thatched huts is an interesting fusion of upscale lodging and a traditional African village. You can view the migration of wildlife from tis lodge in May and June. This lodge has about 65 rooms. The lodge’s amenities includes a swimming pool.

Migration Camp is located in the north eastern Lobo area at the base of Kopje. This camp has 13 tents. The camp’s amenities include game drives, swimming pool, reading library, and bar.

Grumeti River Camp is a recently refurbished camp located in the western corridor, where game viewing is good all year. This camp is secluded making it a good place for a more private retreat safari experience. The camp has 10 tents and offers communal dining from which you can often spot crocodiles and hippotamus in the Grumeti Rvier.

Kirawira Camp is the most upscale camp style hotel accommodations in Tanzaia’s Serengeti. It is located on the top of a hill giving it an unique view of the savannah and wildlife below. The camp has 25 tents. The amenities include game drives and small swimming pool with view.

Serengeti Sopa Lodge is located in the Moru area to the south west of the Serengeti National Park. This lodge has over 100 rooms that include sliding glass doors that open up to a verandah from which you can view the Serengeti. Year round elephants and buffalo can be spotted near the lodge. It is also located along the migration route, so you can often spot wildlife during migration from the lodge. The lodge’s amenities include a natural rock swimming pool and satellite television.
